Hallstatt is located in the uper Austria(Oberosterreich) it is a picturesque mountain resort.

There is located on lane Hallstattersee and is a port city.

The city has 923 inhabitants according to 2008 census and 1 milion tourists annually.

Hallstatt is situated at the foot of the mountain Salzberg and from there it gets its name meaning mountain of salt
