Hair Transplants…After the surgery

Contrary to what you might have heard, there is no way to transplant hair without some scarring.

Regardless of whether hair is transplanted by FUT or FUE, any time skin is cut or punctured it will leave a small scar behind.

The skill of a good hair transplant team is to limit the scarring as much as is possible so that the transplant is undetectable.

Scarring…

No. Or rather, they should not be. The key point about a hair transplant is that it looks as natural as possible.

Before the procedure, the technicians work with the patient to create the most natural looking solution to their hair needs – known as hairline design.

The goal of a hair transplant is to make the new hair look like it was always there.

Are hair transplants noticeable?

Post-surgery…Don’t expect to have a full head of hair immediately after surgery. It normally takes a period of 12 to 18 months for the transplant to reach its full potential.

The root of the follicle that is transplanted remains in the scalp but the hair falls out and new hair then grows naturally, which takes time. The changes occur over time so it appears natural.

Success rates…Success rates vary but a good clinic and team will have a success rate of 98% plus.

For larger scale transplants, we at HRBR use a two strip technique which ensures a higher success rate.
