The CogAT consists of 9 subtests Grades 3 and above are timed

10 minutes each – 90 minutes total

1.5 to 2 hours

r Proctor Led – The test administrator reads each question while the students look at the answer choices. The TA advances the subtest to the next question after students have had sufficient

time to answer. Audio English/ Spanish - Students hear the directions in English or Spanish for each subtest and work independently

at their own pace. (Headphones needed)

r Once all Iowa subtests are complete - students click End

r K, 1st, and 2nd the test can be split up over 2 or 3 days as needed. For grades 3 and above, the entire CogAt should be completed in one session, if possible.

Allow 24 hours after testing for data to be available to run reports

Choose Building if you are at more than one campus

Click Run in Background

• Pop – up will appear • Name your Report• Click OK

Click on Report Center on left hand side

Report will show up under Completed Tab (May take a few minutes to process)

Reports remain in Data Manager for 5 days

Print for use in the GT identification process
