People who have a ‘growth mindset’ believe that anyone can improve by listening to experts and working hard; it gets easier the more you do it.

People who have a ‘fixed mindset’ believe either you are good at something or you are not. This can not be changed.

All children answered a questionnaire with questions such as:

� Children really worry about getting things wrong in front of the class, they worry they will look stupid.

� Many children only like doing what they think they were good at.

� Children are quick to ‘give up’ if they are doing something they believe they are ‘not good at’.

� There is a display in each room to reinforce vocabulary used.
