Transcript of Green buildings project

• The practice of creating structures and using processes that are environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout a building's life-cycle: from sitting to design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation, and deconstruction.

• Green buildings are made to minimize the consumption of natural resources to protect the environment, and to minimize the cost of all building materials. In fact, the Building Technical Manual (1996) has shown that with green buildings designs, we can save a big part of energy, water, site-clearing, landfill dumping and the overall material costs.

• Green buildings offer a huge variety of practices and techniques to decrease and eventually eliminate the effects of constructions on the environment and human health.

• It focuses on profiting renewable resources such as anaerobic digestion, hydroelectricity, geothermal, microgeneration, solar, tidal, wave and wind.

FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLE OF GREEN BUILDINGS

• Green buildings include actions taken to lessen energy use. They may use windows and insulation in walls, ceilings and floors that are highly efficient to raise the efficiency of the building envelope.

• May also use passive solar buildings design that reduces the energy homes. The windows and walls are oriented by designers so are the awnings and trees to shade windows and roofs in summer and in the winter take the maximum profit from the sun.

• As we have learned every engineering problem should follow a design process. Therefore, to get a green building, engineers should follow a certain design method.

• Confirm environmental design criteria

• Develop environmental solutions

• Evaluate environmental solutions

• Check cost

• Integrate systems

• Refine environmental solutions

• Check cost

• Document environmental materials and systems

• Verify material test data

“Green Buildings” is a very important system. It has a real view to a better future. God created nature so that we enjoy its fantastic view and profit from its unlimited benefits. Our main duty as engineers is to protect this treasure, to take care of it and work to raise its benefits. Humans have harmed nature over the years. It’s time to correct those mistakes toward nature and start with new systems that would help protect the environment and all of nature’s resources.
