Centaurs

• Centars were a race of creatures that had the head and torso of a man and the legs of a horse.

What the were like

• Centaurs were brutal and savage. With only a view notable exceptions

• They were always on the hunt for any creature • They represent uncivilized life

There myth’s

• The most famous myth of centaurs is the battle with Lapithae.

• The Lapithae king invited all of the centaurs to his wedding. All went well until the got drunk and started to attack the people there.

The Furies

• Furies were born from the drops of blood from cronus

• His blood was spilled into the sea were the furies came from

What they were like

• They had snakes for hair • There eyes dripped blood• And there bodies looked like a dogs

There myth’s

• There job was to torment people• They would go after anyone who broke the

laws of nature • In one story they pursue Orestes for killing

others

Cyclopes

• Cyclopes are one-eye giants. Who were mostly mean but some times nice. Cyclopes were the sons of Gaia and Uranus.

What they were like

• Cyclopes were very skilled craftsmen• They were not that smart • They were know as savage man eaters • Not all were like this, in other stories some

Cyclopes helped many other people

There Myth’s

• One myth was when zues’s dad was thinking that that zues would over throw him he thought that the cyclopes would help so he made them into his slaves

• Zues took over and set free all of the cyclopes• The cyclopes were skilled workers so the gave

a thunder bolt to Zeus as a wepon

Gorgons

• Gorgons were three sisters who were like furies

• The most famous gorgon was medusa• And like medusa , if any one looked at them

they would turn to stone

What they were like

• These sisters had serpents for hair • They had claws for hands• Long sharp teeth • And scales that covered there body

There Myth’s

• They were from ceto• There names were euryale,sthenno and

medusa• They did not cause harm but they were not

good.

• Another reference is the movie small soldiers • The name gorgons is used in the moive but

does not relate to mythology.

Harpies

• Harpies were birds with women’s faces.• They were the most fierce monster in Geek

mythology

What they were like

• Harpies were monsters that had no nice side what so ever

• They did not respect anyone even there own kind.

• They would attack every one even gods

There myth’s

• Harpies were used by the gods as a punishment

• They were sent to punish criminals and enemies of the gods

• If there was something missing Harpies were to blame

Medusa

• Medusa is know as the woman with snakes in her hair.

• And can turn any one into stone if they look at her.

• She tried to seduce Poseidon, so Athena (Poseidons wife) turned medusa back into a Gorgon.

• Then later she was killed by her.

Satyrs

• Satyrs are nice versions of Centaurs• They are kind, smart and playful • They like to sing and dance • They are know as god of wine

Cerberus

• Cerberus is gate keeper of the underworld• He lets souls in but never out • His only master is hades • His one and only job is to make sure that no

one ever gets out.

What he is like

• He is mean but he is controllable. • He has the body of a dog but with three heads

His myth

• The only time he has ever failed at guarding the under world is when hurcules played a harp that made him go to sleep then hurcules went into the underworld to save his friend

• In the movie the dogs guard a trap door the harry potter needs to get to

• But some one has put a spell on a harp that is keeping the three headed dog asleep.
