Grants Pass Seventh-day Adventist Church
Pastor Charles Byrd
April 6, 2019
If my people, which are called by my name, shall
humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and
turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from
heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal
their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
10:50 AM Today we will be celebrating Women’s International Day
of Prayer with guest speaker Terrie Griebel from the Oregon
Conference Women’s Ministry. In addition to her timely message,
we’ll be welcoming two people into our membership.
1:00 PM Everyone is welcome to join us for our vegetarian Sabbath
Fellowship Meal in the Better Living Center following the main
church service. This week’s meal is hosted by “All Church”.
2:30 PM Join us this afternoon as Terrie presents “Refugee SDA

is doing in far reaching countries.
The blessings of the Sabbath draw to a close
this evening at 7:44 PM
and resume next Friday at 7:50 PM

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Adult Sabbath School Classes Starting this Sabbath April 6
th, adult classes will meet from 9:30 to 10:30 AM.
The Sabbath School Program in the sanctuary will follow from 10:35 to 10:50
AM. The worship service time is not changing and will begin at 10:50 AM as
usual. The church board approved these changes based on the recent Sabbath
School survey and an expressed desire for more Bible study time in the
classes.
Better Living Center Keys
The Better Living Center was rekeyed. In this new iteration we will be
limiting the number of keys that are assigned. Key distribution will be based
on ministry leadership and frequency of approved usage. Please turn in your
old key to the church office. Thank you!
Baby Bottle Program
Next week we will once again be partnering with the Pregnancy Care Center
and their Baby Bottle Program. Please remember to pick up your baby bottles
in the foyer after the main church service next week. Last year we raised over
$800, and we’d love to increase that amount this year!
Ladies-Only Brunch
Ladies, did you forget to RSVP for Sunday's International Day of Prayer
brunch beginning at 9:30 AM at the Better Living Center? Guest Speaker
Terrie Griebel, Oregon Conference Women’s Ministries Coordinator, will
present the message “The Power of Praying Women.” Please call Dorothy
Erwin at 541-597-4693 to see if there’s still space to attend! For those who
have already signed up, please remember to bring a brunch item to share. We
would appreciate items such as fruit, muffins, nut breads, croissants, scones,
or potatoes.
Notice of Grants Pass Adventist School Constituency Meeting The annual constituency meeting of the Grants Pass Adventist School will be
held on Thursday, April 18, 2019, at 7:00 PM in the School Commons. The
purpose of the constituency meeting is to present reports, to approve the 2019-
2020 operating budget, and to transact such other business as may properly
come before the constituents. Only items already on the agenda will be
discussed. All constituent church members are urged to attend. A haystack
dinner will be served at 6:00 PM in the School Commons for $5 per person.
Prayer for Children
Anyone who would like to pray for their children, please meet in the Mothers
Room immediately after the church service.

you would like to “sail away” with us, please pick up a volunteer application
in the foyer and turn it in to the church office no later than April 27th

know as soon as possible if you are interested so we can make arrangements.
If you have any questions, you can contact Kelly Sharp or Elizabeth Durham.
Annual Fund Raiser Dinner

Adventist School will be hosting its annual benefit dinner on May 5th
. Enjoy a
Cinco de Mayo dinner and be a part of the success of our church school.
Please contact Elizabeth Durham if you have any questions, or if you would
be interested in helping with the event.
Church Safety Training

Training at the Valley View Church in Medford on Sunday, May 5th
from
9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Please note that all church officers, ministry leaders,
and anyone involved with any children’s departments and/or activities
need to attend safety training every three years. Registration forms are on
the foyer table.
Oregon Conference Gladstone Camp Meeting
Come be part of the team! Do you want to have a great time helping others
and being part of a team that feels like family? If so, consider volunteering
during Camp Meeting this year! We’re looking for hard working individuals
who want to serve God through service to others and who want to have fun
doing it! We need volunteers for Hispanic Camp Meeting (July 11-13) and
Gladstone Camp Meeting (July 16-20) in a variety of areas including
Hospitality, Shuttle Service, Safety and Security. We will also need licensed
RNs, EMTs & paramedics. Whether you can work one day, or all week, we’d
love to have you on our team! To volunteer, visit
http://volunteers.OregonAdventist.org or contact Lisa Rodriguez at
lisa.rodriguez@oc.npuc.org or at 503-850-3350.
2019 Bible and Spirit of Prophecy Reading Program
This year the Prayer Ministry is providing a one year program utilizing a large
portion of the New Testament, The Acts of the Apostles and The Great
Controversy. Copies of the reading outline are available at the Personal
Ministries window. Please remember that only the books and app that begin
the first chapter on the same page as the outline can be utilized to follow the
reading program. This study will enrich your relationship with Jesus, and
prepare you for the end times so please join us. If you have any questions or
need a book that is compatible with the study, please contact Donna Griffith.
Dorcas
Many in the community of Grants Pass are blessed with food and clothing that
is distributed from our center. As the number of people in need increases, so
does our need for helpers/workers in the Dorcas, Thrift Store, and Soup
Kitchen. Any amount of time you can volunteer, in any position, would be
greatly appreciated. Currently small camper size propane tanks (empty or
full) are needed, along with men’s heavy duty warm socks. We do NOT need
any more egg cartons. Please call 541-660-9088 for more information. Thank
you!
