One day, in the forest, Goldilocks found a cottage. The door was open wide.

There were three bowls of oatmeal on the table. But nobody was home.

Goldilocks tried the three bowlsof oatmeal. One was too cold, one was too hot but the little one was just right. So she ate it all up.

Then she tried the three chairs. One was too big, one was too high, but the little one was just right. So Goldilocks sat down to rest, but the little chair broke.

Goldilocks tried the three beds. One was too hard, one was too soft, but the little one was just right.

It felt so good that Goldilocksfell fast asleep. She didn’t hear the three bears come home.

“Who’s been eating my oatmeal?”said Father Bear.

“Who’s been eating my oatmeal?”said Mother Bear.

“Who’s been eating my oatmeal?”said Baby Bear. “It ’s all gone!”

“Who’s been sitting in my chair?” said Father Bear.

“Who’s been sitting in my chair?” said Mother Bear.

“Who’s been sitting in my chair?” said Baby Bear. “It ’s broken into little pieces!”

“Who’s been sleeping in my bed?” said Father Bear.

“Who’s been sleeping in my bed?” said Mother Bear.

“Who’s been sleeping in my bed?” said Baby Bear. “Look! She’s still there!”

Goldilocks woke up.

“Bears!” she said. She jumped out of bed and ran.

Goldilocks ran and ran, and she didn’t stop running until she got home.
