What we have learned….
“I was not aware of budburst before.” Data showed differences in 2002 and
2007 Maple budburst was delayed in 2007 The two tree species had different
patterns Different species respond differently to the
environment
What we learned…
Flower buds respond differently than leaf buds.
Cold temperatures delayed the Crab Apple but did not seem to change the Maple.
