Typography Project: Students @ The Stone Lab of Harry Stone IB Academy used their understanding of impactful font types and tackled the challenge of Pairing fonts. In selecting two or more fonts that work well together to achieve a typographic aim, student’s created posters that they believe would bring global awareness to issues that may not be well known to their peers. This issue displays the typography work of students.

Wyatt is a precious 9 year old North Texas boy who loves donuts with sprinkles and watching his big brother’s football games and track meets. In August of 2012, he was diagnosed with epilepsy and cata-plexy, a disorder that causes him to suddenly fall without warning numerous times each day. In February of 2013, Wyatt was diagnosed with Niemann-Pick Disease Type C, or NPC. NPC is a progressive, de-generative disease that is caused by problems with cholesterol stor-age in the body. Researchers are working on a cure, without one in the next few years, NPC is always fatal. We need to keep Wyatt healthy and comfortable as long as we can to allow him to participate in a clinical trial for a potential treatment that is currently in pro-gress. More can be learned about NPC by going here: www.nnpdf.org.

Puppy Mills Puppy mills are big dog breeding operations where money is priority over the well being of the dogs.
After being saved from a mill
and adopted, most dogs
arrive to their new home with
diseases like: • Epilepsy
• Heart disease
• Kidney disease
• Musculoskeletal disorders
• Endocrine disorders
• Blood disorders
• Deafness
• Eye problems
• Respiratory disorders
The mills are usually over crowded and very unsanitary with no veterinary care, not an
appropriate amount of food and water or socialization.

About the dolphins:
dolphins are highly intelligent social creatures
That live in ponds, forming close bonds with family
Members. Dolphins in the wild are very curious
Animals and live in a world full of sounds, sights,
Movement, varying landscapes and changing currents.
What humans do…
Humans visitors to marine aquariums Often fail to see that the dolphins there Had to have been ripped from their natural Ocean environments, snatched away from their Family and pod mates, held in nets, carried in Trucks, hoisted into planes and flow for hours.
The traumatic transport: a dolphin’s body is not adapted to air temperatures
or the effects of gravity on land. So when a dolphin
is hoisted out of the water, she can overheat very
quickly. And the sudden pressure of her own body
weight over her inner organs can cause severe pain
And sometimes permanent cramps all over its body.
How can we help? We can stop transporting the dolphins to different places or to the aquariums etc.. We can also stop taking the dolphins out of their natural home.

There are only 8 out of 19 species of polar bear out there. With the other Polar

care of now to prevent that from occurring. For more information go www.polarbear-world.com/polar-bear-endangered.html

For more information, visit http://www.stopextinction.org/top10/withoutanet/173-great-white-shark.html
Great white sharks can grow up to 16 feet long and weigh
up to 2,450 pounds. The shark has plenty of teeth to spare, having up to 3,000 teeth at one time with five rows of
teeth.
Why Protection is Needed The great white shark is very
important for maintaining the
health of marine ecosystems. Because it is a top predator, it
plays an important role in hunting animals that aren’t as healthy as
others. It also decomposes of the
dead animals polluting the ocean. If you take the top animal
from the ecosystem, it could hurt other animals in the community.
Ecosystems have kept a steady
delicate balance, which the great white shark has helped
maintain.
The great white shark faces a variety of threats. It is mostly targeted for its fins, jaws, teeth, liver oil, skin, and meat. It is also targeted by recreational fishers and thrown away with the other “bycatch”.
Because it is such a large
predator and does many things to help maintain the ocean ecosystem, the great white shark needs to be protected. Protecting the great white could protect the
whole marine ecosystem.
Down Syndrome is a genetic disorder caused by
the presence of all or part of a third copy of
chromosomes 21. One in every 691 babies in the
United States is born with Down syndrome, making
Down syndrome the most common chromosomal
condition.
For centuries, people with Down syndrome have
been alluded to in art, literature and science. It
wasn’t until the late nineteenth century,
however, that John Langdon Down, an English
physician, published an accurate description of a
person with Down syndrome.
You should support the NDSS (national down
syndrome society) because there is a lot of
kids of all ages that need help and with the
support you give you could save there lives.
