• Originally a marketing ploy for a restaurant named Johnny Reb’s Chick

• This 56 foot tall chicken has endured time, storms, and restaurant changes to become a point of reference for those living in Cobb County

Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History

• Stolen during the Civil War, had its thieves been successful, the outcome of the war could have been changed

• Instead, its rival, “The Texas,” and a group of Confederate Soldiers tracked it down and became part of “The Great Locomotive Chase”

Kennesaw Mountain BattlefieldKennesaw Mountain Battlefield

• The site of one of the single-bloodiest days of the Battle of Atlanta during the civil war

• 3,000 union troops and 1,000 Confederate troops were killed here June 27th, 1864

• In 1935, the site became Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park

• Has 3,000 acres of forests and trails making it the largest wilderness park in America
