Kurdistan has no state and therefore no national government, but some of its inhabitants would want to

have one.

There is no head of

government in

Kurdistan, but

Abdullah Öcalan is

the head of the main

nationalist party. He is

currently inprisioned.

Kurdistan's wealth of high-grade pasture lands has long made it suitable for a pastoralist economy. Even nowadays

it remains the main sector.

Petroleum refinement is easily the most valuable and developed modern industry in Kurdistan.

The third sector is largely the smallest one in the country. It is mainly made up of civil servants and bank

workers.

“Baklava” is one of the

most appreciated food for the

Kurds.

PKK (Kurdistan Workers' Party) is the main nationalist party, whick is currently illegal in Turkey. It has a parallel armed organisation, whick usually bears

attacks against the Turkish army and whose members we can see in this photo.

The Kurdish conflict remains forgotten by the main international organisations, even by the United

Nations.
