Family Readiness Newsletter

Marines, Sailors and Family Members,

Thank you to all of our Family Members that attended Jane and

John Wayne Day last week. We had a motivated group that fired

on the range, completed a Combat Fitness Test and trained in the

Marine Corps Martial Arts Program. Ideas are already flowing for

our next Jane and John Wayne Day next year. For those of you that

attended, the pictures are posted on our Facebook page.

There are many upcoming events in the works. We hope that you will be involved in

the planning of those events by joining us at our upcoming Volunteer and Planning

Committee meeting on May 4th of 2011 in the 43 Area 1st Maintenance Battalion Con-

ference Room (the Phoenix Lounge) at 6:00PM. This meeting is open to Marines, Sail-

ors and Family members. We look forward to hearing your ideas.

Also in the beginning stages is our new Mentorship Program. If you are a junior or new

spouse to the Marine Corps or feel that you would benefit from having a Senior Spouse

mentor please contact me. Mentors will help guide you through the Marine Corps life-

style, provided insight on best practices and lead you through programs available to

serve you.
