to develop Community Gardens at Village Schools– a place where children and families living in Sadiya can learn about how to improve the soil and grow healthy food

GARDEN

PROJECT GOALS Ensure villagers have the knowledge necessary to meet the basic nutritional needs of their families by

– caring for the soil– growing vegetables organically

Educate families about health and environmental risks associated with pesticide use

Provide the means to cultivate and sell agricultural crops as a potential source of income

Ensure families have the information they need to avoid taking on debt and loans that they can’t manage

There’ll be a school lunch program using vegetables grown in the gardens so kids from

poor families have enough food to eat

The work is going to be done by volunteers from Canada and people from the village. Everyone will

feel this is THEIR project if they are involved in creating it.
