SHUT-OFF VALVES

CHECK VALVES
Features:
A check valve is added on the circuit to avoid any back flow.
Schrader check valves are delivered as a: • Cartridge directly fitted in a hose or pushed in a (plastic, aluminum…) cavity • Hose to Hose device
In both case, the check valve core technology is the same.

PRESSURE REGULATOR
Features:
Schrader Pressure Regulator maintains a constant pressure for any fluid. A constant pressure improves the system efficiency. Thanks to an innovative technology, Schrader Pressure Regulators are able to ensure a constant pressure with low hysteresis in a large flow range with few components.
The design fits with a:• Cartridge directly fitted in a hose or pushed in a plastic, aluminum… cavity • Hose to Hose device
The innovation consists of:
‘‘Schrader has developped a specific spring which allows to have a double guiding of the piston into the body without any additional component. This is thanks to a cylindrical conical spring (see below the cut view). This guiding is essential to have a good pressure regulation and a good sealing. The regulated pressure is calibrated by welding or screwing the back cap. The cylindrical conical spring allows also to have higher flow through the valve. The special square seal mounted on the piston ensures an accurate closing pressure and high performances of tightness.
The value analysis is optimum, the functionalities are guaranteed with few simple components and consequently the cleanliness is improved.

Safety solutions: ACTIVE MAGNETIC PRESSURE RELIEF VALVEOR ACTIVE MAGNETIC BURST VALVE

The valve is activated by an over-pressure and thank to an innovative magnetic technology, the valve can be also activated by power supply. A power ≤ 3A during 50 ms is enough to activate the valve.

Strengths:
One valve with several functions combined or not:
• Over Pressure Management: Schrader technology is not fatigue sensitive (no burst disk) and is able to release all the fluid or only the exceeded pressure.• Over Temperature Management: Schrader technology is able to be sensitive in a large area (2 meters length) and is able to release several capacities in the meantime.• Exhaust on demand or in case of choc: Thanks to Schrader technologies, one or several pressurized capacities can be released with only one active valve or a passive Schrader shock valve.

SAFETY VALVES FOR PRESSURIZED TANK
PRESSURE RELIEF VALVE - PRV: Protection in case of over pressure
Over pressure may happen in the tank when there is:• an overload of gas in the circuit• an increase of the temperature• a squashing of the tankThen to design properly a pressurized tank, it is necessary to locate a PRV in the area where neither device could isolate the safety valve from the tank. Depending on the risk analysis, the PRV could limit the pressure of exhaust totally the gas. For both solutions, Schrader manufactures technologies which are 100% calibrated for the opening pressure on the assembly line, non-sensitive to cycling and checked for the opening pressure even after a gas exhaust.
PRESSURE THERMAL RELIEF VALVE -PTRV: protection in case of fire and over pressure
To detect excessive temperature in a specific area, Schrader has designed, base on a fuse tube which follows the cylinder areas to control potential over temperature. Then it is not anymore necessary to implement safety valves at each ends of the tanks. The principle is as follows: the fuse tube is filled with a liquid under constant pressure. The liquid’s pressure is created by a piston-spring system then this pressure is independent of the gas’s pressure. And the advantage is that the fuse tube burns at the requested temperature. When the tube melts, the liquid is exhausted then the piston moves back. Consequently, the gas sealing system is released. The stored gas is exhausted through an opened area then can be collected. A calibrated PRV function is included in the valve.
SHOCK RELIEF VALVES: Protection in case of accident
Most of the time, fire on vehicle are due to an accident which creates damages on the inflammable circuits. To allow that the gas of the tank is exhausted before that the fire achieves the tank, the key is to exhaust gas when an excessive deceleration happens. That’s why Schrader proposes a ‘‘shock’’ valve which is able to stay definitely opened in case of shock on the vehicle. Thus, in case of deceleration higher than a deceleration coming from a braking, the shock valve opens and creates a purge of the liquid stored in the fuse tube, if it is associated with a pressure thermal safety relief valve and if not, there is only a purge of the gas. This valve is 100% calibrated and 100% checked and thank to its design, the valve is not sensitive to cycling.
