Obituary
Fred B. Murchison, Sr. was born in Durham, NC to the late Marie S.
Terrell.
He was a lifelong member of New Zion Missionary Baptist Church
where he was a member of the Mission Choir and taught the Adult
Men’s Sunday School Class until his health declined. He was also a
member of the Silvertone Gospel Singers of Sanford, NC.
He served in the US Army during World War II and retired from the
City of Sanford.
Fred was married to the late Alise Johnson Murchison and was also
preceded in death by his son, Ronald A. Murchison.
Left to cherish memories of him are: his son, Fred B. Murchison, Jr.
(Margaret) Sanford, NC; his daughter, Vanessa Y. Murchison,
Sanford, NC; grandchildren, Fred. B. Murchison, III (Audrey) Sanford,
NC; Amanda Ervin (Charles) Dumfries, VA; Tiffany Walker,
Baltimore, MD; great-grandchildren, Charles P. Ervin, IV, Kendra I.
Ervin, Keyshawn Walker and Jalen Walker; great-great grand-
daughter, Amiya Ervin and many other relatives and friends.
