Transcript of Finalizing SM Data

FINALIZING STANDARDS MASTERY DATA

There are a few steps to take to verify End-Of-Year data

Let’s walk through them step by step in a sample tracker

Your tracker should include your full name

Your tracker should have a finalized roster

Note: All new students who joined your class should have been added to the roster, and all students who have missed more than 50% of instructional time should be removed from the dataset with supporting documentation. You should have indicated any students for whom you set an alternative ambitious goal and should now report their final results separately.

Your assessment calendar should reflect that at least four assessments have been administered

Note: Update assessment dates to accurately reflect when they were administered.

Note: Mark “Yes” for all the rounds of assessment that have been administered.

and at least four rounds of data should be entered in your tracker

For ALL students

Note: If you are missing data for even one student, your data are not complete!

All standards should be assessed

Note: All standards should be assessed with the adequate rigor and at-bats necessary to make a valid inference about student learning

Another way to check that all standards have been assessed is that these two values are the same

Note: These values are not the same, and this teacher still has an assessment to administer!

Your tracker should be error-free

Oops!

And finally, you should check your progress to Goal!

Note: This class achieved an average standards mastery of 75.66%. The class met the Proficient Goal, but not the Ambitious Goal.

Treating your data with care is a critical part of your role as a teacher

and a graduate student

Your students deserve it!

Honest Accurate

Complete

Error-Free
