Final Project
For our final project, our complete module contains:• Creating a Wiki Page –mandatory online module
– Train the trainer style– Includes references to tutorials– Encourages learner to create their own wiki page for hands on– Contains a self assessment and brief survey
• Follow-up Web Meeting (not mandatory)– Provides additional help in setting up, managing, and understanding how to
personalize the wiki page– Set up at a later time
• SME Support– Subject Matter Expert will be on stand by post-training as needed
Methodology
• In the book Empowering Online Learning, Curtis Bonk and Ke
Zhang highlight the R2D2 model of learning. Read, Reflect, Display,
Do.
– Read: Read online content
– Reflect: Take Tutorials and think about how you can use this information for your
class
– Display: Set up a wikispaces page and display using a wiki
– Do: Add, Edit, and Manage your wiki page, explore advanced settings, analytics,
and permissions

– Complete tutorial(s)
– Create a new account
– Login to their wiki
– Set up a Wiki page with permissions
– Upload content by adding links, widgets, images, and files
– Invite members to join the wiki
Wiki Explained
• First Wiki created in 1995
• Online space for collaboration
• Wiki pages can contain content without having to add
HTML code
• Content can be added and edited easily
• Sign up: www.wikispaces.com
Wiki Terminology
• Account – allows you to manage and participate on the Wiki site
• Wiki – a group of individual pages united to share files and members
• My Wikis – a list of all the wikis of which you are a member
• Wiki name – the name that appears in the header of your wiki
• Permissions – settings that determine who can see and make
changes to your wiki
• Page – what you see in a browser window without links
