FedCity - Game

• You are travelling with Fed as he visits 17 cities of past glory, where he has won titles as a Junior, in the Challenger Circuit & as a Senior Pro.

• Your job is to identify these 17 cities based on the clues given, so that you know where you are going.

• Do note that the first letter of these 17 cities do not repeat, for instance if one of the cities is Muscat ( obviously never !! ) then M is done.

FedCity - Game

• Most importantly, there is a thread. We start from Paris as City 1. City 2 will start with one of the letters from PARIS. So it cannot be Muscat for sure.

• City 3 will start from one of the letters of City 2 and so on and so forth till City 17.

• A hint – Wimbledon & London are two separate locations for this game.

Have fun identifying and travelling with

Fed !!!

1

Fed won a Grand Slam in this city, the only major he has never won again.

2

Fed won his first doubles title on the Challenger tour in this city with a guy called Sander Groen. It was on his 18th

birthday.

3

Fed beat Jiri Novak & Moya in 2002 & 2003 in this European city. Strangely both best of 5 for a 250. More strangely top local player Thomas Muster

has never won the title here.

4

First time in this vibrant city after all these years recently. Fed won the title

too. The only city straddling two continents.

5

Fed beat Tim Henman for a lone title in this city. Here he is holding a porcelain cup of the local brew

standing next to a barrel. The brew is not champagne from Moet & Chandon but ‘rice wine’.

6

The only exhibition title Fed has won twice, held in a place which is a suburb

of Melbourne – an aboriginal word meaning ‘haunt of the wild fowl’ .

7

Cowboy Fed won only once in this city. However he was presented

Juliette in 2004 and Desiree ( pictured ) in 2013.

8

Since 2009, the ceremonial opening of the ATP tour happens here, being the first

one on the tour. Once Fed & Rafa even played on a ‘magic carpet’. Fed won it three times – the last being in 2011.

9

No more clues required for a die-hard Fedfan.

10

Fed won the last two of similar titles in this city making it 6 in all. The earlier 4

titles were won elsewhere in two different continents

11

Fed is tied with Jimbo & Pete here. But 5 in a row. No one else. Could have been

6. Alas.

12

The only Grand Slam Fed won as a junior was in this famous suburban

district against a Georgian called Irakli Labadze.

13

This tournament does not exist any more. Fed is the only one to have won it twice ( both the Andys ). This Asian city is one of the world’s

top tourist destinations Get the ‘massage’ ?

14

Known as the Estoril Open, this tournament is played in a municipality

which is now part of Lisbon. An anagram of Rio Sea starting with an O.

15

The Giant Racket in the city where Fed has won two titles. The city known as the

‘Gateway to Europe’.

16

Fed beat good friend Jarkko Neiminen in 2003 for his sole trophy at the city which houses the headquarters of the tournament sponsor.

17

This city has been good to Fed who reached the finals 6 times and won each one of them including

2014. Hoping for 7 in the near future.

Thank you for playing and hope you had FUN!!!
