What is a narrative text?

Narrative text serves to informreaders by telling them a story. It

can be real or not.

What are the purposes of a narrative text?

1. To tell a story

2. To tell a sequence of events and experiences

1. There is a development of the

story starting with the beginning,

middle and end.

a. Protagonist- The main character of the story.

c. Round Characters- These are the characters that change throughout the story, may it be from being good to bad or vice versa.

4. Conflicts can be seen in the text.

Types of Conflictsa. Person vs. himself- The conflict is internal. A character must overcome his nature or make a choice between two paths- the good and the evil, the right and the wrong.

b. Person vs. Another person- The conflict is external. The conflict is between two characters in the story. Usually, it is the protagonist against the antagonist.

c. Person vs. Society- The person is against a man-made problem (e.g. bullying, slavery). In the story, the person is forced to fight these problems.

Types of Conflictsd. Person vs. Nature- The person is against any force or element of nature. It could be a sea creature such as sharks and octopuses or land creature such as bears and tigers. It could also be the natural catastrophe such as tornadoes, storms and earthquakes.
