DirectionsBy train and bus:The Falkirk Wheel is close to either Falkirk Grahamston or Falkirk High Station. First bus No.3 Red Line runs every 15 minutes to and from the site. Please note there is a limited bus service on Sundays.
By car:The Falkirk Wheel is signposted from Glasgow, Edinburgh and the North by brown and white tourist signage. Please check our website for detailed directional maps www.thefalkirkwheel.co.uk The Falkirk Wheel, Lime Road, Tamfourhill, Falkirk, FK1 4RS
There are two car parks at The Falkirk Wheel – North and South. Visitors with walking difficulties and disabilities should go to the South car park. There is a 5-10 minute walk along the side of the canal from the North car park to the site.

Summer March - October, 7 days a week, 1000 – 1730
Winter November – March, 5 days a week (Wed – Sun), 1100 – 1600The Falkirk Wheel will be closed on the 25/26 Dec and 1/2 Jan.

Come and experience the World’s first and only rotating boat lift, The Falkirk Wheel. Apart from seeing the awe inspiring 35 metre high structure with your own eyes, there are plenty of activities on offer to keep you busy all day! The Falkirk Wheel acts as the gateway to Scotland’s Lowland canal network and is the place where the Forth & Clyde Canal meets the Union Canal.
You will see from our fold out map that there is lots to do and explore including our visitor centre, children’s play area, canal side strolls, woodland walks, wildlife spotting, Rough Castle Roman Fort and Antonine Wall!
