Brief Description of Undergraduate Courses Taught: (Course Title – Code: Description) 1 Health Data Content and Structure HIMT223:
The course enables students to learn the content and format of health care data of the paper – based health records; documentation standards applicable to health care data; methods of assuring that standards are met; and forms design and control. Students will also criticize most of the forms currently in use both in inpatient and in ambulatory settings.
2 Health Information Management in Acute Care HIMT325:
This course introduces students to the usual functions provided by the health information management department. Students learn techniques used in the identification, filing, storage and maintenance of health records. This course also allows students to perform quantitative and qualitative analysis and compute routine institutional statistics.
