INTRODUCTION

Innovation of technology, introduction to cigarettes, booming of computer entertainment and computer games and personal issues and personal problem, these are some issues introduced to young people, especially to high school students. This is the age wherein young people are trying to discover everything and anything they think they needed and wanted to know.

Introduction

And sometimes, this exploration to certain things affects not only their personal life but also their education life. This study can help determine the factors that affect the students performance in their school. This study can help and recommend the students to lessen the effect of the factors and increase the positive performance of the students. This study focuses on investigating the students of Casa Del Niño Montessori School of Sta. Rosa.

Introduction

BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY

Casa Del Niño Montessori School of Sta. Rosa is a school whose noble desire and mission of is to develop a child who possesses Character & Creativity, Academic Excellence, Scientific Mind and Achievements, Casa del Nino Montessori and Science High School opened its portals to all aspects of learning. 

Background of the Study

Background of the Study It aims to elicit and develop the child’s innate values that would make him a person of excellence. It also aspires to create an atmosphere of quality instruction and the evaluation of academic standards.

OBJECTIVES

ObjectivesTo determine the factors that affect the student’s performance in Casa Del Niño Montessori School of Sta. RosaTo understand the relationship of the factors determined to the students and their performance

ObjectivesTo identify whether the factors discovered are positive or negative to the performance of the students.To recommend students, if the factors discovered is negative, what can he do to improve his academic performance.

HYPOTHESIS

HypothesisNull Hypothesis– There are no factors that affect the

academic performance of the high school students in Casa Del Niño Montessori School of Sta. Rosa.

HypothesisAlternate Hypothesis– There are factors that affect the

academic performance of the high school students in Casa Del Niño Montessori School of Sta. Rosa.

HypothesisCause and Effect– If there are a factors discovered in

this study, the factors is a big contributor on the academics performance of the high school students in Casa Del Niño Montessori School of Sta. Rosa.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY & RESULTS

Research MethodologyTo obtain data for study the research design

used is the Survey method.

Survey– non-experimental, descriptive research method. – data are usually collected through the use of

questionnaires, although sometimes researchers directly interview subjects

– the collection of data from a given population for the purpose of analysis of a particular issue.

In our study, data were collected primarily through a well-defined questionnaire. A sample of selected 40 students in Casa Del Niño Montessori School of Sta. Rosa was taken.

Research Methodology

The sample includes ten students from each level which includes 18 girls and 22 boys.The said students were given a questionnaire and it took them minutes to answer the it.

Research Methodology

The questionnaire includes the personal information, like the name and the year and the section, of the students, and certain questions to obtain the data needed in the study.In the questionnaire, a checklist was written for the students to check to what factors affect their studies.

FINDINGS, RECOMMENDATION, & CONCLUSION

The factors discovered in the survey has a affects their academic performance of the students because of the following reason:– It affects them emotionally and physically– Instead of being focused on their studies, their attention is

dividend in their problems– It affects their social interaction, they sometimes have more

time socially than their studies– It makes them feel happier than doing something– They cannot control their selves when they started to engaged

in their own recreation– They cannot balance their personal relationship and their

studies– They get distracted and they focuses more in their recreations– Their family expects him/her to be the bread winner of their

family. Failure is not acceptable.

Findings

The sample results are divided when asked if the factors that affects them before still affects them now.Some of the students said YES because of the following reasons:– They are still addicted to computer games.– They cannot find the right solutions to solve the

problem.– They are happy when playing or going out with friends.– They cannot stop their vices.– Their family will be unhappy if he/she fails.

Some of the students said NO because of the following reasons:– They are more determined now than before.– They are trying to be good.– Some issues are now resolved.– They try to balance their study and playing.– They learned from their mistakes.– They thought that study is more important than

anything.– They focused more on the their future.

Findings

Some of the students said IT STILL AFFECT THEM SOMETIMES because of the following reason:– They sometimes cannot control

theirselves and still continue their addiction but still can be positive on his/her studies.

All of the students wants to go to college for the following reason:– To continue their study– To help their parents– To reach their dreams– To have a good future– To prove their parents he/ she can pursue their dreams– To have a good job– To make their parents proud– To earn money – To be successful in life

Some of the students doesn‘t want to accept the opportunity to bring back their live like a normal kid because of the following reasons:- They already learned from their mistakes- They are already contented- They don’t regret anything- Trials are one way for us to learn

Some of the students want to change their lives because of the following reasons:- They wish to live like a normal kid- They want to enjoy their childhood life- they want to be successful someday- They want to become strong- To concentrate more on studies

The following recommendation are given to students to give them encouragement and to have a positive effect in the academic performance of the students:– Inspire more the students to study.– Treat them not only as a student but also as a son or

a daughter.– Don’t let the students to feel bored while you’re

discussing. Give them some fun activities to make them feel alive.

– Try not to nag them every time and give them compliment.

– Never let them feel they don’t belong.

Recommendation

We therefore that there are factors that affect the academic performance of the high school students of Casa Del Niño Montessori School of Sta. Rosa. The factors discovered affects the different aspects of a student. It affects not only their academic performance but personal relationship, social relationship, decision making, and physical performance. Computer games and gadgets is the biggest factor that affects their academic performance. Even though it affects their performance, all of the students are determine to finish their study for a better future.
