CHELSEA HIGHLIGHTS 2010

A fantastic Chelsea, which showcasedsome inspiring planting schemes: AndySturgeon's harmonious but brave blendof Mediterranean, Southern hemisphereand English plants; Mark Gregory's garden for The Children's Society with its unusualthyme covered canopy; and Roger Platt'sdesign with elements of the quintessentialEnglish garden. PRIVATE RESIDENCE, OXONAll plans have been approved and workhas started on site at this private hall in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside. The designs for the landscaping combinetraditional elements such as a formal lawn terrace, vegetable & flower gardens, orchard and an avenue of trees with a contemporarypatio, tennis pavillion and pool area to createa stunning 40,000m sq private garden.www.exteriorarchitecture.com

WANAKA, NZA contemporary New Zealand lodge withlandscape design by EA. What was once rough pasture land has been transformedinto an outside living space with tennis court, pool and terrace. A soft contouredsloping grass bank and a sympathetic choiceof planting (native shrubs, emergent tree species, tussocks and grasses) enhance the natural wilderness within which thehouse is set.
