A plot chart is a chart that shows each part of a story.

Plot CHart

Writers use this to make a story with a plot.

Example:

Cinderella

Purpose

● The start of the play or story, like the introduction

● Example: WHen Cinderella was a maid for her evil stepmother and sisters, then found out that there was a ball and the stepmother wouldn’t let cinderella go!

Exposition

❖ The story’s event leading up to the climax

❖ When her fairy Godmother gave her a makeover and she meet the Prince and started dancing with him.

Rising Action

● The most exciting part of the story

Example: The clock struck 12 o’clock. Cinderella ran out of the ball and she lost her shoe

Climax

● The story drawing to a close

Example:The prince went looking for the girl who lost the shoe at the ball. The step sisters hide Cinderella because they don’t want Cinderella to go off with the prince.

Falling action

● The end of a story

Example:The Prince finds Cinderella and they live happily ever after.

Resolution

What is the climax of a story?
