The futuristic vision rests on four pillars: human development, social development, economic development and environmental development. In order to realize its vision, the country has to maintain a crucial balance between an oil based and knowledge driven economy, diversi-fying the economy and ensuring a progressive, stimulating environment for business.
Qatar has taken proactive steps to diversify its economy away from its reliance on fossil fuels. The QNV 2030 and the National Development-Strategy provide a blue print for leveraging the country’s dominant reserves of energy towards the expansion of its productive base and long-term diversification. Qatar has set aside USD

130 billion on non-hydrocarbon investments. In-vesting more than USD 15 billion in a new state-of-the-art international airport and USD 25 billion in constructing high-speed rail networks.
The Qatar Tourism Authority is investing USD 20 billion in developing the tourism industry.Global credit rating agency Standard & Poor’s has affirmed its long- and short-term foreign and local currency sovereign credit ratings on Qatar at ‘AA/A-1+’ with a stable outlook. Qatar scored a high of 71.2 in the area of economic freedom ranking as the 30th most economically free country in the 2014 Index.
THE QATAR NATIONAL VISION 2030 BUILDS A BRIDGE FROM THE PRESENT TO THE FUTURE. IT AIMS TO TRANSFORM QATAR INTO AN ADVANCED COUNTRY, CONVERTING ITS ENERGY DRIVEN ECONOMY INTO A KNOWLEDGE DRIVEN ECONOMY.
expoexpome.com
The end goal: to transform itself into a knowl-edge-based economy characterized by inno-vation; entrepreneurship; excellence in edu-cation; a world-class infrastructural backbone; the efficient delivery of public services; and transparent and accountable government.
Qatar has set its course towards fulfillment of Vision 2030 with dynamism, maturity and pragmatism.
Out of the 15 countries in the MENA region, Qatar ranked 3rd highest and its overall score is above the world average. Furthermore, Qatar scored improvements in half of the 10 economic freedom indicators listed, including business freedom, labor freedom, and monetary freedom, offset by de-clines in the control of government spending and trade freedom.
Importantly, Qatar has been successfully build-ing its credentials and is committed to position itself as a destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions popularly known by the acronym MICE. Doha’s rapidly develop-ing inbound, outbound and domestic events and business travel industry have benefited from an integrated business approach which provides learning, development and networking oppor-tunities for industry professionals. All of these measures have resulted in global recognition and endorsement of Qatar’s commitment to pro-mote itself as a MICE destination.

EDUCATION
AG EVENTS AND INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF EXHIBITIONS AND EVENTS (IAEE) ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT TWO CEM COURSES WILL BE HOSTED IN DOHA, QATAR FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THE MIDDLE EAST.
23RD TO 24TH OCTOBER 2015
22 expoexpome.com
23expoexpome.com
24 expoexpome.com
WHAT: The Certified in Exhibition Management (CEM) designation was created in 1975 to provide a professional designation for individuals in the exhibitions and events industry. To earn the designation, participants must complete a nine-part program within three years. Recertification is required every three years after the initial program is completed to maintain the certification.
WHO: The International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) offers the designation. IAEE provides leadership, service, education and benefits to professionals in the exhibitions and events industry.
ABOUT THE CEM LEARNING PROGRAM
25expoexpome.com
WHY: The CEM designation was formed to raise professional standards and is recognized throughout the industry as the premier mark of professional achievement.
WHEN: Classes required to obtain the certification are available year-round at various locations world-wide, including Qatar for the first time.
WHERE: The designation is attainable through classes that are offered online and on-location.
HOW: To begin the CEM Learning Program, new candidates must have three years of full-time experience in the exhibitions and events industry.
Documentation of experience is submitted through a Work History Verification form prior to registering for the first course.
26 expoexpome.com
Over 50 percent of IAEE’s members are directly involved in the planning, management, and production of exhibitions and buyer-seller events.
The remainder of our membership consists of those who provide products and services to the industry. IAEE values and promotes diversity of membership, in terms of company
ABOUT IAEE
size, products, and geographical area. Each active member organization is given one vote, regardless of size.
Benefits of IAEE Membership include professional development, industry news and publications, industry and professional resources, service partner discounts, advocacy before government and media, leadership development and local chapter membership.
INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF EXHIBITIONS AND EVENTS – IAEE- WAS FOUNDED IN 1928, IAEE IS COMPOSED OF APPROXIMATELY 1,200 MEMBERS (ORGANIZATIONS) AND OVER 8,000 MEMBER REPRESENTATIVES (INDIVIDUALS).
27expoexpome.com
IAEE desires to provide committed and dedicated exhibition personnel with business and technical knowledge that would be of practical value in the marketplace. Because of the emphasis on practical knowledge, the CEM Learning Program is an education program first and a designation program second.
IAEE has specific goals for course curricula; chief among these goals is the maintenance of international standards.
However, IAEE and the CEM Commission are determined to incorporate a significant amount of curricular flexibility to allow for a variety of position and marketplace uniqueness. Most important to the goal of maintaining curricula at international standards is to have the curricula reflect current changes, innovations and trends in the exhibition work environment. In short, the curricula must reflect the latest thinking in exhibitions and events management.
It is a major goal of IAEE to maintain standards at such a high level that individuals who earn the CEM designation are recognized as knowledgeable and dedicated professionals with a long-term commitment to the exhibitions and events industry. The CEM designation provides recognition of professional achievement and certification of knowledge. Participants in the CEM Learning Program are individuals who are aware of the
challenges of professional conduct and who know these challenges can only be met through greater knowledge and a continuing commitment to professional growth.
For this reason, maintaining the CEM designation with a recertification every three years is a requirement of the CEM Learning Program.
FUNDAMENTAL TO THE PROGRAM IS THE BE-LIEF THAT EACH INDIVIDUAL MUST MAKE A PERSONAL COMMITMENT TO PROFESSION-AL EDUCATION. IT IS THE RECOGNITION OF THIS RESPONSIBILITY AND COMMITMENT THAT GUIDES IAEE AND THE CEM LEARNING PROGRAM.
Over 50 percent of IAEE’s members are directly involved in the planning, management, and production of exhibitions and buyer-seller events. The remainder of our membership consists of those who provide products and services to the industry. IAEE values and promotes diversity of membership, in terms of company size, products, and geographical area.
Each active member organization is given one vote, regardless of size.
