CAREERS PROGRAM

OFFICE OF DIVERSITY EDUCATION AND RESEARCH

Exploring Health Careers at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is an

initiative to expose students from partnering colleges/universities to a variety

of career options in the health professions. Through faculty presentations,

clinical shadowing opportunities, and learning how to apply to health

professional programs, students are able to clarify the next steps in their

academic and professional journey over the course of six weeks.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

$1,500 Stipend

Scientific Research Methods

Verbal Reasoning and Exam Prep Strategies

Presentations from College of Medicine, School of Public Health, College of Nursing, School of Graduate Studies and School of Health Professions faculty

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident

Completion of at least 1 semester of science or math coursework

2.5 G.P.A. Minimum

Educationally or financially disadvantaged

Currently enrolled in one of our partnering colleges

Freshman, Sophomore, or Junior
