SAGE RESULTS: The percent of Opt Out students is not equal across our schools and the state. Certain communities have higher rates then others. According to data released by Utah State Board of Education, 23% of Utah schools had 5% or more Opt Outs. There are also 80 schools in the state that have 10% or more Opt Out students in 2016 (Canyons - Mt. Jordan). These Opt Out rates affect both SAGE results and accountability reports.

STUDENT MOTIVATION: Several educators have expressed concern that secondary students are no longer taking SAGE really serious. Teachers can longer use SAGE as a portion of class grades. It is very difficult to calculate the impact of secondary student motivation on SAGE results.

School Accountability Results 2016

• PACE (Introduced in 2014) - PACE replaces the old UCAS reports. PACE is also used to fulfill federal accountability requirements.

• SCHOOL GRADING - was first implemented in 2013. There are frequent legislative changes that affect School Grading calculations.
