Q6.WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?

SLR CAMERA

• With the camera I was able to learn how to take great images in practice for my magazine but also I was able to take the final shots needed for it too. This camera allowed our magazine images to look professional and ensure better pixelated detail when with our without a background.

PHOTO BOOTH

• This allowed me to take close ups of the models being interviewed. Also it helped capture practice shots for when I made my film poster edits. It was a very fun piece of software since it had funny camera edits for when capturing pictures or videos.

IPHOTO

• This allowed me to upload my camera shots from the SLR Camera on to the mac. Which then further made it easier for me to work on my magazine and have great quality images which were easy to access through this.

PHOTOSHOP

• This allowed me to edit and alter my images, and also make them more defined and resizable in order to fit in with my work. Also I created my final artifacts on this software and although it was a tricky process it helped me achieve my final artifacts with success.

INDESIGN

• This allowed me to install certain fonts of my choice and then use them on my college magazine pages. It also helped me set the structure and layout of my magazine allowing me to create my final piece on this. This helped me with understanding how my music magazine should turn out and was a great practice to learn from.

PREZI

• This is where I have created my presentations, which shows the research I have done in order to create my final magazine. For example I created my mood board and target audience research on this website. It is a fun and different way to present work and can be really easy to work with, when you get the hang of it.

DAFONT

• This website allowed me to download various fonts to use in my magazine. It helped my magazine seem unique when compared to others since it had a range of styles to choose from. You could choose traditional fonts to specific ones that are used in products such as coca cola.

SLIDESHARE

• This allowed me to embed my PowerPoints onto my blog. Which will help when showing a presentation to my audience. Also it will show that I have a alternate way to address my audience with a online presentation accessible at all times.

WORD IT OUT

• This allowed me to create a collage of terms, which relate to the media industry and also it has specific terms which I have been using for this project. The word it out is more of a key term collage which shows the range of work within the subject by specific media lexis.

MAKE A GIF

• This website allowed me to create an animated collage of the images I have used. It also shows the range of software I have been using to reach my target audience.

PHOTOBUCKET

• This website allowed me to edit images if needed and also it helped as a backup for uploading artifacts or images. The artifacts can also be viewed publicly on this website, which I can later get feedback off if comments are posted.

FLICKR

• This allowed me to have a backup for uploading my artifacts. You can still view my artifacts on this website with the distribution of magazines and how it will help and effect mine.

OUTLOOK

• This has allowed me to contact industry professionals through email and gain some professional feedback from them. Which helped my magazine artifacts greatly, being viewed in a professional manor, suggesting changes if it would be published and distributed for sale.

SOCIAL NETWORKING

• These have sites/apps have allowed me to reach my target audience and gain feedback of them. For example: Twitter, Whatsapp, Instragram have allowed me to post my final artifacts and ensure that my target audience can reach them and inform me about areas of improvement, which I did gain as shown in my audience feedback posts.

ISHOWU

• This has allowed me to create pod-casts, which will help in your understanding of what I have done so far and what is still needed. It helped me create a verbal approach on explaining what work I have done and how I felt when doing it.

SOUND CLOUD

• This allowed me to upload audios which I could later embed into my blog. It is an alternate method on using audio, rather than recording more iShowU videos.

YOUTUBE

• This allowed me to upload podcasts onto my blog. Which shows a verbal way of reaching my audience on my blog, compared to continuous information written in posts.

MICROSOFT WORD

• This allowed me to create various documents, which held my industrial background information and documents. Which is needed in order to make a professional magazine, for example model release forms and risk assessments were needed to be complete in order to shoot my images for my magazine.

MICROSOFT POWERPOINT

• This allowed me to create the presentations with a range of designs offered so they would not be dull or boring. This then made it easier for when I had to upload presentations onto my blog through slideshare.

BLOGGER

• This allowed me to update my progress and show you my work in an organised continuous manner. It also helped me list what I have done so far and what needs to be completed, by saving posts as drafts.

IMAC

• This allowed me to successfully use all the previous software's throughout this process on creating my final artifacts. It had the expensive software's such as Photoshop and InDesign and offered access to websites like dafont and slideshare making it easier to upload posts onto my blogger account.
