Ireland.

cross Antarctica.

Ernest and his crew spent some time on

South Georgia before they’re expedition.

The Journey

The Endurance sank before half the journey.

The Rescue

Shackleton left with some of his crew

members and came back weeks later to

rescue his crew.

On January 5, 1922, Shackleton died of a heart attack off South Georgia. He was buried on the island.
