Environmental Portraits

Use the 'environment' to explain the reason for the person in the photograph.

"Artists on Location”An environmental portrait project focused on local artists and creatives. This collaborative effort introduces artists in their own work or home environment to portray them in a specially honest and natural way.

Introduce subject (the person) in their own work or home environment to portray them in a specially honest and natural way.

In their natural surroundings, you will be able to better illuminate their CHARACTER, and therefore portray the ESSENCE OF THEIR PERSONALITY, rather than merely a likeness of their physical features.

In their natural surroundings, the subject will be more at ease, and so be more conducive to expressing themselves, as opposed to in a studio, which can be a rather intimidating and artificial experience

“Examining the conversation between person and place.”-Gary Cohen
