TheEntanglementStrengthTesteranalyzestheyarntosimultaneouslymeasurethenumberofentanglementspermeterandlengthoftheentanglementskips.Thesystemusesatwozonetransportsystem,firsttoremovetheentanglementsandsecondtoprovideconstanttensionforoptimumentanglementcountmeasurement.
Thetransportsystemusesstateof theartcontrolsystemtoensuretheyarn isunderpreciseelongation%that isdesiredbyenduserrequirementsinZone1,whichisalsoknownasDrawZone.
AstheyarnpassesthroughtheDrawZone,thehighresolutionTensiondevicemeasuresthetensiondevelopedontheyarnastheentanglementarebeingremoved.Dependingonthestrengthoftheentanglement,thistensionvaluecanbehighorlowforstrongorsoftentangledyarnsrespectively.
AssoonastheyarnleavestheDrawZone,itenterstheEntanglementMeasurementZoneundercontrolledtension.Inthiszone,aCCDcameracollectstheyarndiameterinformationwithprecisionof3.5micron.Thediameterdataisusedtoidentifyandcounttheentanglementsandentanglementskipsintherunningyarn.
ThecompleteESTtestroutinewillincluderunningtheyarnatareferencecondition,normallyat0%elongationandthistestresultwillbeusedasthebaselineforEntanglementStrength(ES%)calculations.Afterthereferencestepisfinished,theESTwillstartdrawingtheyarn,upto20stepspertestandwillcollecttheentanglementdataateachstep.TheEntanglementStrengthwillbecalculatedasthe%entanglementsremainingintheelongatedyarnafteritissubjectedtothedesireddrawconditions.
Afullstatisticalreportforeachbobbinisavailableattheendofeachtest.
