It was a cold, dark night when I was alone in my house, sitting in front of my
laptop and doing research on my latest assignments. The fan and light were
working properly but they were off out of sudden, I was so shocked and could
jump out of my seat. Then, I grabbed a portable flashlight which was placed at
the corner of my table for emergency use. Later on, the flashlight had me feel
better to figure out that the fuser in electricity box was burnt instead of any horror
movie scene going on.
I got back into my room again with the flashlight on and continued with the work.
What got my attention while doing research was the light from outside
penetrating in through my window and the surface of flashlight reflected the deep
blue color. I took a close look on it, the eyes of it reminded me of a car brand,
Mercedes with big and small headlights. It had deep blue plastic coating but
transparent which enabled me to see the gears, screws and the other
components in it like a part of Iron Man’s body.
It basically shaped like a human body from shoulder to hips without hands or a
mouse perhaps. Touching it was like rock hard that could break my head and it
became warmer when turning it on for a long period. Turning it on and off
producing a tick-tock sound that kept reminding me that it was late and telling me
I should be on bed. Shaking it was even worst; it told that time flied all the time
and the deadlines of assignments were around the corner.
The curiosity always drove me to something where I later found out there was a
manual electricity generator with it. That was really out of my expectation that a
small thing could have this kind of technology. I was playing around with it and
the sound produced which I did not really fancy because it was like using
handbrake on an old bicycle.
Finally, the lights of it freed me from the darkness in a small room and brought
me to a new environment that I rarely been. It shined bright like a diamond and
brought life to my room so that I could do works. Of course, this little thing would
be kept in my room to overcome this kind of situation again. I was so glad that I
had it, how could I imagine nights without it?
