Domestic Distribution automation installation in TEPCO (from 1990 to 2000) Advanced distribution automation system installation in TEPCO (near future)

Overseas Feasibility Study on Hanoi Distribution Automation Project in Hanoi, V ietnam (2004) Project Formation Study for Distribution system Automation in Bangkok, Thailand (2004) Special Assistance for Project Formation for Distribution Automation in Bangalore, India (2005)

By combining automatic control and remote control assisted by computer for distribution network operation, supply reliability and operation/maintenance work e f ficiency are improved.

DAS consists of the remote/automatic switching devices for overhead and underground distribution lines, and the computer system to monitor and control. If a fault in the distribution network occurs, the system detects the faulted section of the distribution network, isolate the faulted section, and recharge the some of the un-faulted parts of the network, all by automatic operation. By remote operation from the control o f fice, the other parts other than the faulted section are energized.

E f fective utilization of distribution network facilities, by monitoring the operation status on-line and controlling remotely Labor saving in field work, by automatic and/or re m ote switching operation Shorter restoration time after power outage, by quick identification of the fault and automatic and/or remote switching operation
