Applies to all construction & demolition sites.

Standard

Key points - AS/NZS 3012:2003

• Support of cables entering switchboards –’flexible’.

• All final sub-circuits protected by 30mA RCD’s.

• Construction wiring must be separate to perm wiring.

• Minimum flexible cord size 1.00mm2

• Leads – Protect from mechanical damage.

– Supported off the floor.

Lighting

Festoon lamps

• Lampholder permanently moulded to cable.

• Non-conductive, mechanical guard.

• Supported at least 2.5m from the floor.

Portable lamps

Must have a rating of IP2X or higher.

Inspections

• Prior to initial service

• Where new, supplier to test & tag.

• Before return to service after servicing or repair.

• Can use an individual tag or register.

• Competent person can carry out testing & tagging.

• Only a registered person with a current practicing license can

carry out electrical repairs.
