The contents of the doctoral educational programme
- theoretical course;
- research work, including implementation of a doctoral thesis;
- practical training (pedagogical, research); scientific internships;
- intermediate and final attestation.
The structure of the Cycle 3 (PhD) Programs contains two components: educational (20%) and scientific (80%).
Doctoral educational programmes correspond to the 8-th level of National Qualifications Framework, industry frameworks, 3-d cycle of the European Qualifications Framework and the 8-th level of The European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning; they are developed based on a classifier of specialties of higher and postgraduate education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Acquired competences: the abilities to
a) apply the skills of scientific abstracting and quoting when publishing papers on scientific research;
b) effectively work with modern printed and electronic sources of scientific information;
c) conduct an independent scientific research in accordance with main phases of the research work
d) – develop independently a scientific mini project in and apply it for native or international competition for grant financing
Research workshops for doctoral students are held in the university’s library for learn to use databases and various subscription publications

Problem based learning : analysis of problem industrial situations and their solving to choose optimal technological mode, most effective ingredient for a reaction mix, etc. based on acquired theoretical knowledge

• The organization of students’ research work in doctoral studies is implemented at graduating departments provided with highly qualified scientific and pedagogical personnel, necessary laboratory-research and scientific-methodical bases.
• Doctoral students have free access to the laboratories to fulfill research works

Current control of the research work of doctoral students
• Current control of doctoral student research work of is held by consulting commissions. To assess the current control, the results of research work are recorded by students at the end of each semester in the form of a report.
• When doctoral student assessing for current control, supervisors and consulting commissions assess the following parameters:
a) quality of the experimental work;
b) the number and quality of presentations at scientific / methodical seminars;
c) quantity and quality of scientific / methodical publications on the research theme

Final attestation of students (comprehensive exam ) is a form of state control of doctoral
candidate educational achievements, aimed at determining scientific-theoretical and research-
analytical level of the doctoral student, formed professional competencies, readiness for
independent performance of professional tasks and compliance of its training with the
requirements of the the educational programme
