Education in India falls under the control of the Union Government and the State Governments.

Women’s Education • Female education is the need of the hour. Without educating the women of the country we can't hope for a

developed nation. Women play a vital role in the all round progress of a country. If we want to make democracy successful, women must be educated. They are the real builders of happy homes.

• It is said that if we educate a man, we educate a man only, but if we educate a woman, we educate the whole family. This highlights the importance of female education.

• Thousands of young women have made the decision to attend a women’s college to better prepare for the years ahead.

One of the major program of govt. is SARVA SIKSHA ABHIYAN.

The main goal of this program is that all children of 6-11 years of age should complete primary education by the year 2007 and all children of 6-14 years of age should complete eight years of schooling by 2010.

The SSA centers are mainly opened in those areas which do not have any school , where schools are very far off. and strengthen existing school infrastructure through provision of additional class rooms, toilets, drinking water etc.

• Focus on skill based education• Reward creativity, original thinking, research and innovation• Implement massive technology infrastructure for education• Get smarter people to teach• Re-define the purpose of the education system• Make reservation irrelevant
