Music Video Editing

These are a few images I took on location of shooting my music

video, showing the surrounding area and how it will appear on

camera.

I renamed all of the video files so that it

made it easier for me to locate which file I needed at different

points.

I used a transition and made a clip dissolve into the next clip as it is subtle and fit well

with the music. I think I will use this transition a lot more as it looks effective and

links the separate scenes nicely together.

I chose to use a ‘dip to black’ transition as it is

solemn and reflects the mood of the song.

Here I chose to use a ‘dip to white’ transition as it

introduces one of the flashbacks, showing

clearly that it is presenting a different type of scene.

Digipak Editing

I changed the font to ‘Gills Sans MT’ as it is bold and looks very

clean cut yet simple.

This is the original unedited image

I cropped it in to the shape of a square so it fits the album template

I erased the green splodge that was at the bottom of the image so that it doesn’t take away any attention from the image as a whole

I increased the contrast to make the sunlight and colours more yellow and warm

I changed the font to white so that it is visible and stands out against the image

I put a black background around the text “The Cinematic Orchestra” to make it clear that it is a separate piece of text compared to the album name

Inside Left PageThe Cinematic Orchestra are a British electronic and jazz band who formed in 1999 by Jason Swinscoe. The other band members consist of Patrick Carpenter on turntables, Tom Chant on saxophone, Luke Flowers on drums, Nick Ramm on piano, Stuart McCallum on guitar and Phil France on double bass. This group is signed to successful record company Ninja Tune.
