HISTORICAL FICTIONS

Pink and Say never conflicted with historical fictions. It is a great resource to use

when trying to teach students about history, the civil war, the meaning of slavery,

and even interracial relationships. The story is authentic because it has been passed

down for generations all the way down to Patricia which wrote a story book about it.

The story showed us exactly how the speech of the characters were, especially Moe

Moe Patricia the author portrayed her speech beautifully. The story is realistic

because it matched the character’s emotions and feelings from that time period.

The illustrations did presented authentic settings with details of objects that were

from that period of time an example would be the household items. The settings

looked really realistic because the author illustrated the details.
