Principal’s Message

The ECE would like to thank all who attended the K/G1 Valentine's Day dance. And, a big thank you to PAFA, Austin Wellman and the Lower School Student Council; Fiona Sherwood and the MS Dance Group; and DJ Herman Thalen for all their hard work in making it a great event.

Chinese Culture

Our Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten and Grade 1 students explored the popular Chinese stories, The Monkey King and The Magic Brush in their Chinese culture lessons this past week. Kindergarten students explored ways to make their own Money Trees from the “Magic Brush” using a variety of art styles.

Message from the PYP Coordinator

The knowledge content in the PYP is organized under six transdisciplinary themes: Who We Are, Where We Are in Place and Time, Sharing the Planet, How We Express Ourselves, How We Organize Ourselves and How the World Works. Our teachers have worked hard over the past two years to create a Programme of Inquiry for our school with engaging, relevant, challenging and significant units under each theme.

Currently, our students are inquiring into the following Central Ideas:

• Nursery – Journeys take us places we want to go• Preschool – Things move the way they do for many reasons• Pre-Kindergarten – Plants are a resource for us and other

living things• Kindergarten – Farm systems support people• Grade 1 – Humans express their imaginations through art
