EASTER IN PORTUGAL

EASTER

In this time of the year we celebrate the rising of Jesus from the death.

The Resurrection Day is celebrated after 40 days from Carnival, the beggining of the Lent.

EATING TRADITION

In Easter the tradition is eating almonds and chocolate eggs.

We usualy don’t have meat on the Friday before, but we do eat meat on Easter Day.

In Portugal we have the Folar, caracteristic of our country.

We usualy don’t have meat in the Friday before, but we do eat meat in the Easter Day.

OTHER TRADITIONS

In Portugal we have lots of processions and church cerimonies, more usual in small villages.
