ABSTRACT Resul-ng from the 2012 EA Research Summit, leaders from the EA field formed the Prac-ce-‐based Research Network (PBRN) Steering CommiQee. This commiQee has been mee-ng regularly to discuss and push forward a research agenda in the EA field. This presenta-on will provide a brief update on the outcomes from this commiQee to date, including, results from the first ever PBRN stakeholder survey, an introduc-on the EA Digital Archive, and highlights from a peer-‐reviewed ar-cle submission promo-ng a collabora-ve research agenda between the EAP and public health fields. Par-cipants will learn what is going on in the field with regard to research and how to become an ac-ve par-cipant in adding to the growing evidence base for the EA profession.

EAP PBRN
• The EAP PBRN Steering CommiQee (SC) developed an online survey to assess the research capacity, access, and resources of individuals who had expressed interest in the PBRN over the past two years.
• Results will be used to guide discussions amongst PBRN SC members to plan goals and next steps for the group.

EAP PBRN (cont.) • The survey was sent on November 3, 2014 through Qualtrics (online) and closed December 5, 2014.
• 65 par-cipants completed a survey for a response rate of 68%.

• 33% are Social workers; 19% are psychologists

knowledge and skill level to evaluate, conduct, and u-lize research as well as establish partnerships and provide technical assistance.
• Respondents reported feeling confident or very confident in their abili-es to: – 55% -‐ conduct independent workplace focused research – 64% -‐ provide technical assistance to individuals interested in research
– 71% -‐ evaluate the quality of research publica-ons – 78% -‐ establish partnerships with independent researchers – 89% -‐ u-lize findings from research in prac-ce

Supervisors • 67% of respondents were supervisors, who encouraged employees to use evidence-‐based research by shaping products, policy op-ons, or training programs.
• Between 20-‐35% did not endorse the following as a supervisor: 1) measure outcomes using standardized measures; 2) integrate evidence-‐based prac-ce to EAP services; 3) pay for con-nuing educa-on; and 4) bring in speakers for staff.

Research Use Provide a brief example of how you recently used research in your professional work.
Out of 44 recorded responses, 27% described recently using research in their professional work for outcome measurements and 20% described they recently used research for educa-on/ curriculum development or presenta-ons and workshops.
