‘Things which matter most must never be at

the mercy of things which matter least.’

Goethe

“I have missed more than 9,000 shots in my

career. I have lost almost 300 games. On

26 occasions I have been entrusted to

take the game winning shot, and I missed.

I have failed over and over and over again

in my life. And that is why I succeed.”

Mentoring Participant Philip Brown, Newtownhamilton

Mobile Animal Farm

Phil’s Farm

“I contacted Countryside Agri-Rural Partnership earlier this year to see what support was available. The mentoring programme seemed to offer just what I needed, a bit of support from an independent person, someone to bounce ideas off and to check I was going in the right direction.”

“My mentor was able to provide the tools I needed. He gave me good examples and templates to use for cash flow projections which actually made sense to me. It was really beneficial to have someone from a farming background who understood where I was coming from”

Through mentoring Philip:

• Got support with planning his business venture

• Accessed Skills Training essential to the development of his business

• Identified other sources of capital funding

• £250 towards succession planning advice
