Scenario: I am an Instructional Designer with

Educational Technology. My job is to develop and present training to employees via the company Intranet.

My manager explains there is a recurring problem within the company than many entry level employees do not adequately complete their research projects because they do not understand how to use an internet search engine.

Goal of Tutorial:

The learner will demonstrate knowledge of how to conduct an internet search beginning with opening a browser, following the steps and ending with an internet web page of how to write a business email.

Learning Outcome Objectives:

Locate and open web browser

Locate and type web site in address bar

Identify and type in search box

Navigate and search link results

Research results and find information

Task:

Develop a step-by-step tutorial to teach a beginner (we all have to start somewhere) how to do an internet search.

Double-click the icon to open a browser window

(such as Internet Explorer, the big blue E, most common or another browser)

STEP 1:

STEP 2:Type in the address bar http://www.google.com/ for the internet search and press enter.

STEP 3:Type in the search box

“How to write a business e-mail”Press Enter again

STEP 4:Click on the link

STEP 5:You should see the results of your

search.

SUMMARY SCREEN:Step 1: Double-click the icon to open a browser window

Step 2: Type in the address bar http://www.google.com/ for the internet search and press enter.

Step 3: Type in the search box “How to write a business email” Press Enter again.

Step 4: Click on the link “How to Write Business Email”

Step 5: You should see the results of your search.
