E-commerce and Tourism are growing phenomenal in the world today possessing a
worthwhile potential for the economic development of any country. Globalization,
development of information and communications technology (ICT) and adherence to
international quality standards potentially result in paving the gaps in geographical and
cultural communication barriers. The international marketing practices are
transforming rapidly through the globalization of organization and digital technologies.
E-commerce has revolutionized business, changed the shape of global competition
with internet. However with this international expansion, there are a few concerns viz.,
technical infrastructure, regulatory issues, logistics and reverse logistics, payment
methods and payment processing, CRM, In-market customer support, cultural
difference, cultivating trust and building brand as key differentiator.
Similarly, the demand for medical tourism in India is experiencing a tremendous growth.
However, the Indian medical tourism sector faces various challenges. Since India
attempts to position itself as one of the preferred global medical tourism hub, a
thorough understanding of means to attract, satisfy and retain medical tourists is
extremely important.
The One day Seminar on International Marketing at AIMS Institutes aim to explore the developments, the opportunities, and the future research possibilities. Such an aggressive research agenda includes an (re)examination of existing and new concepts and theories to validate them within e-commerce and Tourism contexts. In particular, we will focus on developments and conditions which will have a significant influence on global market opportunities for e-commerce and tourism. In doing so, we examine the influence of the Internet and electronic commerce (e-commerce) in building global brands, the emergence of multinational companies (MNCs), the development of International brands, the importance of relationships and networks, and the greater international integration.

Dr. Sam Guédouard is a Business Trainer, and Senior Adviser in International
Marketing & Business. He has developed the international marketing & business
courses and training modules for corporate houses viz., Philips (NL), Olivetti (IT),
Michelien (FR), Doosan (KR), Parmalat (IT). He is a consultant to SMEs in over 20
different countries such as SCAAT (IT), Desscomex (FR), Press Diffusion (UK), Koch
Originals (USA) etc. He is engrossed with various Government senior roles such as
with the French Government (FDI attraction and management), with the EU
Commission (economic and regional development), and with the Australian
Government in FDI attraction and in international trade advisory. He is the cofounder
of industrial high-tech start-ups like Altair Srl (IT and FR), which was highly specialised
in environment technologies. He earned the Post-Master Degree in International
Marketing and Trade from University of Lille, France in 1990. He also got distinction in
Higher Degree in Research Preparation at MQ University; a Pathway to PhD in
International Business with focus on International Entrepreneurship in 2013.
