BRUCKNER Mass in E minorOne of the most beautiful and powerful choral works ever composed. The E minor Mass is scored for a fifteen-instrument wind band – setting it apart from Bruckner’s other two masses - and from almost all other 19th century liturgical music.
DUKE ELLINGTON Sacred ConcertA spectacular blend of gospel, jazz and traditional choral singing. The Duke is best known for his jazz arrangements, but he considered this piece “the most important thing I have ever done”.
Hertfordshire Chorus is one of the country’s foremost choirs. Conducted by David Temple MBE, it regularly performs with the BBC Concert Orchestra and Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and has recently been broadcast on BBC Radio3 and BBC Radio2. Our latest critically acclaimed CD Ode to a Nightingale (Will Todd) and Codebreaker (James McCarthy) was recorded with the BBC Concert Orchestra for Signum Records.
