Invitations will be mailed by Mr. EckertIndex card written by each intern to introduce

and share a moment with the mentor

Mentor Introduction Due 3-27

On the index card:

•Put your name in the upper RH corner

•Put you mentor’s name and title in the upper LH corner

•On the back of the index card, identify your mentor’s greatest strength(s)

•On the front – due 3-27 - share the most significant learning experience(s)/skill(s)/accomplishment(s) at your internship that may be shared with mentor/family/friends

Due 4-10 An Abstract …

• highlights the major elements of a study• first document of a research paper• “sells” your research• allows the reviewer to determine if it is

important• uses key words in the abstract which is

critical so people can complete an electronic search and retrieve the study

An Abstract includes…

• a concise & coherent paragraph:150-300wds• chronology of the research study• logical connections/transitions• NO new information• key elements of the research study• A single spaced paragraph in Times 12pt -

font• third person

Steps to Writing the Abstract

• Complete the Abstract Organizer in the document “Writing Your Abstract” under Semester 2 Documents on my website

• Condense the Information from the Graphic Organizer into a one-paragraph, stand-alone document

• Upload the Abstract to Turnit.com
