Study Goals

Develop an accurate picture of parking conditions and issues in Dudley Square

Build upon past efforts:• Dudley Square Transportation & Air Quality Study (2001)• Dudley Square Transportation Action Plan (2009)• Dudley Square Parking Related Hurdles to Economic Growth (2012)

Define existing parking supply/demand issues through accurate data collection

Determine future parking issues as significant changes in land use occur

Propose solutions to address changes in parking demand over time:

• Changes to curb-side regulations• Opportunities within major developments• Utilize progressive parking management strategies • Define roles of City, community, development teams, etc.

6-month Schedule

Late September – Hired VHB (Vanasse Hangen Brustlin, Inc.)

October – Collect and synthesize information from past efforts

Late October (week of 10/28) – Site surveying of on- and off- street parking

November/December – Interpret data/project future changes and needs

January – Present findings and strategies to community for review and input

February – Present recommendations and implementation strategy to community
