This program provides strategies to our teachers especially on Stage 3 to further develop and teach students as they move into Dubbo
College with both Delroy and South Campuses also following the same teaching strategies around the Inquiry Based Learning. Skills taught such as communication, cooperation, critical thinking, collaboratively working together and problem solving. Which will help students prepare for their future. School Reports will be given out to students on Friday 14th December. All students also receive information for 2019 equipment etc they will need. Classes will be provided to students when they return in 2019, due to any unplanned rearrangements for any classes over break time. Any students that may experience some anxiety or have special needs have already been involved in transition to their classrooms etc.—not necessarily knowing their teacher but meeting the range of teachers on their stage. I apologise for any inconvenience around this organisation. School Development Day for staff will be held on Thursday 20th December. All students Kinder to Year 6 finish Wednesday 19th December. Staff will be involved in a range of planning workshops on this day. Due to an earlier cultural Staff Development Day held on a Saturday for all staff—staff will be finished at school on Thursday 20th December. Any new enrolments etc can be taken up until the end of Friday 21st December. School will resume on Tuesday 29th January 2019 for staff and students return on Wednesday 30th January 2019. Have a great week. Sharon Murray, Principal

Kinder 2019 Transition Boys and girls who will be attending Kindergarten at
Dubbo South in 2019 are now into their 5th week of our transition program. These new students have been
enjoying coming into school each week to play games, read stories, sing songs, make new friends and learn
about the different parts of our school. Parents have had the opportunity to come along to expo afternoons where
a variety of information was on hand ready to start the new school year. It is a very exciting time of the year and
we look forward to seeing all of the children’s and parent’s faces around our school in 2019!
No Hat No Play Students are reminded that Dubbo
South Public School has a “no hat, no play” policy. Those children who come
to school without a hat will be requested to sit in a shaded area.
