1. THE software

DownloaD

• Go to www.apachefriends.org

• Find the package that suits your machine (and

your cms).

• Download!

• Wait until download completes.

EXTRACT

• Uncompress to a safe place in your machine.

LOCATE & RUN

• Find the batch file / executable to run the local

server.

UNBLOCK

• Allow the server to be recognized by your

firewall

CONFIGURE the Server

• Set your database

• Set PHP.ini settings

• Configure your virtual host settings

• Restart your server a couple of times

2. THE PLATFORM

Download the platform of

your choice

EXTRACT

Follow README instructions

• to figure-out pre-installation requirement

Follow setup wizard

• Carefully read & click-thru to follow installation wizard.

• Installation varies depending on your platform.

– May include:

• Creating the database

• Setting admin user accounts

• Changing file permissions
